Fernweh

What is holding me back is unknown
I don't know.

And the dream I chase, feels so remote.
I wither away as a branch.

Ashes to ashes and dust to dust.
Because I must go
and leave this world behind

To chase the wisp of light that shines
upon my future and my past.

Beneath the surface, down in a hole
I make my ways
Trudging through dark days
to reach my goal

To find peace within my soul
