Mercurian Dusk

Bare witness to an infected pursuit of absolute power
A civilization containing resources to obstruct the system
Canvas the sun with a potent defender that we have created
Allegorical manner in which our planet becomes the time-keeper
Bringer of darkness, come unto us as we send our message
Expel the rays from our regolith covered surface and craters
Crippling planets disrupting their course of life and survival
Creating a balance unknown to conventional galactic plan
Dictate this realm
In need of dawn
Submit, resource to use, grand rule
Utmost, lust for control overt.
Bow down, this dusk shall reign evermore
Engulfed in the night, each sphere slowly decays.
As frost consumes the orbiting worlds
The cries apparent show signs of forefeiture to the cause
The Empires inception, driven by hunger to consume the weak
Metaphoric idea to manipulate time and the star
Eternal eclipse signals the rule of deception
This night, this beacon, a monument, the messenger has served us
Concede all belief to Mercury, axiom of eternal dusk
