As Dawn Broke On The Day

There was a church to be built
The budget's round, the craftsmen skilled
Time , money, no lack of anything
Nights went short, bars so tempting

The architect lived his dream
And thought it would be
Until eternity
But nothing is granted for free

As he became the head of fools
The reckoning would come soon

In debt for eternity
To a certain Mister D
Then he'd surely see
That nothing is granted for free

Not much happened
On the holy building site
The architect was summoned
To build the church overnight

In came the Devil with an offer
The architect could not refuse
The Devil would send demon workers
An incredibly hard working crew

To get the work done before morning dew
The architect knew just what to do

All money he had left
Must stay untouched
So he would trade his soul
In this treaty of trust

A miracle happened
Not of Christian kind
As dawn broke on the day
The church towered to the sky

His woman, smarter then the Devil
In love, her husband must be saved
So she took one stone away
And he Devil never got paid

So the architect was free
His debt got redeemed
But then Mister D, yes He
Was looking for another treat

The Devil plots the doom
